Many different building materials exist to compete with wood, and are environmentally sound. However, the choice to build one of the stylish Edwardian wooden conservatories of real hardwoods will increase the value and the warmth of the home or office.

There are many reasons to add a conservatory to a home or office. Some just seem to be simply window dressing for the property. This is not always the case, as the conservatories can be built for many fully functional uses such as entertainment area, study or recreational area for children, and can be counted as additional living space to be furnished and used just as any other room.

The Edwardian design is generally on a square or rectangular footprint with a pointed roof design maximizing floor space, making the area more usable per square inch. Increasing the amount of time per year to enjoy the ‘outdoors’ as well as adding extra natural lighting year around are excellent reasons to consider adding a wood and glass conservatory. They offer a seamless transition from a busy home to a garden area for study, personal reflection, entertaining, and a vast array of other uses.

The choice to use natural wood or to use manmade wood products can be offered dependent on the particular needs of the client and the desired end result they are looking for. Classic or contemporary style buildings can be enhanced with the use of Edwardian conservatories.
