Wooden Orangeries

Once you’ve decided that an orangery is the way to go instead of just a conservatory or the expensive, intensive building process of a full addition, your next choice is between uPVC orangeries, or wooden orangeries. Both have the perfect combination of shelter and privacy and brightly lit, airy openness. Both are quick and easy to have built. Both can come in a wide range of styles and colors. Both include such options as tilt out windows, or sliding panel doors. Either can be custom built to suit your exact space, privacy, light, and budget needs. Both have those wonderful, light-gathering lantern roofs that would allow you to even keep the most delicate of plants in them. Wooden orangeries, though, seem to have that extra bit of panache that will truly complement your existing building and even enhance its value. Especially if your house is a country cottage style, or made of wood itself, a wooden orangery would better fit in with your existing architectural style. You want people to notice your orangery as a part of your building, not as the main focus. Wood framing also allows for a wider range of trim and lighting choices. Wood has a cozy, comforting warmth that nothing else does, no matter what the temperature.
